Age Well Show 2022 is the art exhibition by the elders of KLS Settlement. The show was hosted at Royal College Of Art Dyson Gallery - open to the public from 19–29 May 2022.
I had this wonderful chance to participate in designing the visual identity for The Things that Matter in Life: the art exhibition by the elders of @klsettlement. This exhibition showcases artwork created by the elders from @klsettlement’s Age Well Programme, made through the Covid-19 pandemic. Many of the participants had never painted or drawn before. The work in the exhibition displays autobiographical pieces about the lives of older key members of the Battersea community.
The visual identity was developed to reflect the warmth, optimism, and humanity embedded within the artworks themselves. Rather than imposing a rigid graphic system, the identity was designed as a fluid and adaptable framework that could respond to a wide range of exhibition and marketing formats while maintaining a strong and recognisable visual language. Dynamic compositions, expressive typography, and playful visual rhythms conveyed a sense of joy, movement, freedom, and continuous storytelling—qualities that echoed both the artists' creative process and the richness of their life journeys.
This project reinforced the importance of designing with empathy and cultural sensitivity, demonstrating how visual identity can amplify authentic human stories while creating meaningful engagement with audiences from different generations.
